Problem > complications > third act resolution

Don’t make it hard on yourself. Keep it simple.

Open with a problem the protagonist wants to solve then load up one damn complication and dilemma after the other while raising the stakes until you resolve what he needs to solve in the third act. (Feel free to pepper some pointers along the way so you don’t get lost. Pay the story forward.)

Don’t get tricky with the twist at the end. It’s a cheap thrill.

Less is more.
