It’s all advertising

It’s weird when someone says - even swears - they’re immune to advertising.

They don’t seem to realize they’re an advertisement for their supposed immunity.

You’ve probably seen them, maybe even met them. They’re very earnest, generally wear subdued colors and try not to make a big deal of anything. They pride themselves on deflecting culture.

Advertising isn’t just what you see on commercial television or YouTube. Advertising is more than annoying banner ads or sponsored content on online news sites. Advertising is beyond all those billboards and backlit logos you see shimmering in every metropolis on earth.

Advertising is the sun shining through the morning. Advertising is the tree flowering into life. Advertising is the bees humming the way to the nectar.

Advertising is how attention is gathered and transformed.

It’s all advertising.
