How to change someone’s mind

No matter how hard you try, you cannot change anyone’s mind.

Facts? Statistics? Science? Rational and irrefutable data? Nailgun loaded with silver-coated ideas? Neural plug that locks into the back of the brains and pours in a constant flow of new concepts?

It’s not going in no matter how hard you push. It’s going to be deflected by confirmation biases and pre-existing beliefs.

Don’t look to change anyone’s mind. Look to confirm established patterns of thinking. Look at the scaffolding that’s holding up that thinking. That’s what you want to change.
