Logo revolutions
Look at the protests sweeping the Middle East and you won’t see one Che Guevara t-shirt among the hundreds of thousands taking to the streets.
You won’t see the typical political uniforms and iconography of revolutions of the past.
Instead what you see is Dolce & Gabbana t-shirts. Ralph Lauren hoodies. Giorgio Armani jeans. Nike sneakers. Especially among the young.
They’re not just connected by their Facebook pages and Twitter feeds. They’re connected by the brands (and aspirations) of young people everywhere.
It’s like the new religion. The protestors look like you and me. They don’t look different. They look the same. They mirror us.
Maybe that’s what makes all the difference?
