Make more mistakes

Mistakes happen all the time.

Of course we learn from them. That’s what they’re for.

Of course we can choose not to learn from mistakes and keep repeating them expecting different outcomes. At best it’s wishful thinking. At worst it’s a tragedy.

Sometimes we learn that mistakes are not what they first seem. What we immediately believe to be an error in one context can be a complete success in another. New products, businesses and even markets can come from perceived mistakes.

Play-Doh® was a failed wallpaper cleaner.

Kellogg’s® Corn Flakes was a failed sanatorium meal replacement.

Viagra® was a failed hypertension medicine.
