F. Scott Fitzgerald had a soft spot for lists. It’s easy to see why.

1. They’re not really like writing. You don’t have to connect the sentences. You just have to get the words out of your brain.
2. They’re concise and don’t waste words. They’re easier to read.
3. They’re self-fulfilling.
