Three things to learn from fear

Fear is your friend.

It’s weird, right. You know what you need to do. But you keep putting it off, scared of the consequences.

  1. Only way to overcome fear is by stepping up and doing what scares you. (Realize that part of the reason why you’re scared is that you’re scared of what you’re capable of.)
  2. Once you do what scares you (and you don’t die) your brain releases enough dopamine to amply reward you for your efforts. It actually makes you feel joyous in a I’ve-slayed-a-dragon kinda way.
  3. The longer you put off doing what scares you, the longer you put off your own joy. Fear is your friend. Welcome it. Do it.
