Vimeo a go go

Google’s YouTube video platform seems the clearest oracle for predicting where video distribution and creation is headed in the coming years.

But an alternate vision is being carved out by Vimeo, which has been growing in interesting ways in the past year. That includes a stark redesign and it’s newest feature just launched - the ability to buy movies.

The films cost around $5 and can be streamed to various devices. Unfortunately, a melange of confusing distribution rights complicates the system. A good documentary about Anonymous, “We Are Legion,” is only available in the US, and the fantastic LCD Soundsystem documentary, “Shut Up and Play The Hits,” is only available in the UK.
